Picture perfect in every season.

Rich in History

Arrowtown is a picture perfect community rich in gold mining history. Sitting in The Arrow Basin, which was carved by the great glaciers of Ages past, the small township has not changed much since the it’s famous gold mining days. The main street, while a shoppers delight, still has many of the old buildings that were built during the days of gold mining. Rather than relics, they are in everyday use as offices, cafes and shops.

In it’s day, fifteen hundred miners camped beside the Arrow River by the end of 1862. 340 kgs of gold were lugged out by the first gold escort in January 1863. A load worth $18 million at today’s prices. These days Arrowtown is sought after by both visitors and new residents. Its population of just over 2,000 people enjoy a range of quality amenities including, library, museum, swimming pool, internationally acclaimed golf courses, medical centre, a nearby airport, hospital, ski fields, an ice rink, and events centre.

Discover Local Food and Brews

The restaurant scene in Arrowtown is simply delightful. From a range of award winning restaurants, to local bars serving local brews, through to the regions favourite bakery.

Some of our favourite places to dine or sip on local wine are Saffron, Tap and Fork, The Chop Shop and La Rumbla. Arrowtown is a great place to explore with the whole family, meet up with your friends or a pit stop during your travels around the region.

Peace In Nature

Arrowtown is beautiful in any season, but Autumn is a magical time not to be missed. The annual Arrowtown Autumn Festival takes place in April each year and is a great day out.

The festival is a celebration of community among the backdrop of some of the most beautiful autumn colours you will ever see.

Events include art exhibition, photo competition, gold panning championships, parade and market day. Alongside musicians and performers and a vibrant street parade.

Not to be missed is the Pie, Pint and Pinot day which becomes more and more popular each year. Feast on amazing pies, fabulous craft beer and wonderful wines while soaking up the music and atmosphere under the beautiful autumn trees.

Lose time in history and nature.

“Our trip with Shaun and Exclusive Adventures was outstanding. We were really impressed by the hospitality and friendliness of Shaun and the staff. The lodge was spectacular and very comfortable, with incredible meals. In addition, the setting was beautiful with the river in front and the mountains beyond. My wife and son, when they were not hunting with me, were able to see other parts of the country as Shaun made arrangements for guides and transportation. The hunting was great and the helicopter rides were a real “trip”. Shaun also provided great advice for us after the hunt for our own sightseeing excursion. I highly recommend Exclusive Adventures.”
